What does it mean that Upfront Press is a "social corporation?" Are you a nonprofit?
Upfront Press is organized as a For Profit Corporation, however, shareholders are not paid dividends or profits, and can only receive back from profits up to the amount of their investment. That allows for the bulk of profits to be retained after operating expenses and taxes for investment in product development, promotion, and distribution of our research findings.
How come there are only two authors?
Our publishing venture was organized to publish the work that evolved from Neil and Jean Mastellone's research project. Ultimately, we plan to publish about fifty full-length print and e-books. In addition, there are plans to produce a number of topic-related videos. We are seeking clairvoyants or psychics with perceptual abilities comparable to Jean's, if we do and they create clairvoyant case study profiles, we will publish their work as well.
Neither Neil nor Jean have any professional credentials or psychological training. How can they write about medical topics without credentials?
Neil and Jean's "credentials" come from real life experiences working intensely with many hundreds of real life people suffering a variety of disorders and problems. Neil has invested thousands of library hours studying published works in psychology, psychiatry, philosophy, and religion. Coming away convinced that they miss the mark as far as the true cause of negative human behavior and experience are concerned. Seen another way, "credentials" usually translate into learning erroneous theories and facts, and yielding independent thinking to blatant and subtle peer pressure.
How can these people claim to be experts in so many areas?
Neil and Jean do not claim to be "experts" in any of the topics or areas they write about. They see ourselves as "researchers," presenting to the general public, educators, medical professionals, and other interested parties, what they believe are facts that emerged from our more than 30-year independent research project. However, "selfishness and selfish control" are key underlying factors related to the 23 Topics that they address. It has been their long time and detailed investigation of selfishness and selfish control that makes them uniquely qualified to make their comments.
I happen to not believe in clairvoyance or psychics. I see that numerous of your books are based on clairvoyant readings. What if Jean is just imaging all the information in those readings?
Many people, especially those in the scientific community think clairvoyance is a sham and psychics are frauds. That may be true for some, but we challenge anyone to make a serious appraisal of Jean's clairvoyant reports. Over 1200 recorded readings exist, most are voice recordings on audiocassettes. Each is a unique commentary, when transcribed, her psychological readings, which are detailed accounts of individual patterns, events, and reactions, will exceed 60,000 pages of printed text. We defy anyone to find identical sentences or paragraphs from amongst that voluminous body information. Incidentally, Jean's clairvoyant work is substantial proof that it is possible to directly access another person's mind; something each of us has been doing subconsciously since we were inside our mother's womb.
Why does no one else talk about disorders and causes in similar ways?
We attribute that fact mostly to peer pressure, fear of truthful expression, and The Great Cover-Up.
Why is everything in your books so negative?
The driving focus of the research project has been to stay centered on the negative and downside of life and relationship. That which is negative, unloving, dishonest, irresponsible, hurtful, and destructive is what hurts a person and those with whom he or she closely interacts. Focusing on and highlighting that which is negative points to what requires positive change in a person or relationship.
The impression you give is that the majority of people are incest survivors. That is ridiculous and impossible to believe. That does not appear true for most of the people I know.
Based on the research, the candid admissions of the people we interacted with, Jean's clairvoyant observations, and the obvious clues that exist in the environment, the majority of people walking around today do appear to incest survivors. Incest survivors, abusive parents, and abused children display tell-tale behavior patterns and frequently hide behind auras and outwardly projected images of being okay, normal (which they statistically actually are!), respectable, spiritual, and stable. Their deceptions may fool many people, but their pretense and dishonesty is locking them into destructive patterns, toxic feelings, conflict, guilt, and inner pain. Try this, next time you are at a social gathering, bring up the topic of incest, then watch how quickly the room starts clearing of people.
There are lots of good parents. Why don't you talk about them?
There are good, kind, caring, nurturing parents, who treat their children with respect and do not abuse them. However, those parents, in our opinion, are a minority and are not contributing to the selfish reactions that manifest as the disorders and destructive activities that are on the rise everywhere. Good parents are not a problem, therefore, they need not be a matter of focus or concern.
You seem to be against everything. Why?
If you read what we are saying carefully, you should see that we are not against anything or anyone. Rather, we are for what is truly loving, actually true, truly right, and lovingly responsible, and we are advocating that what is clearly not right about us personally be dealt with and changed by each person.
Why are you attacking gays? Are you homophobic? I personally know many homosexuals who have happy and successful lives. Where do you get off judging them and accusing them of being in pain?
Firstly, we are not attacking gays. As a matter of fact, we are attempting to be true friends to all homosexuals and bisexuals. Those gay men, lesbians, and bisexuals with whom we interacted and Jean read, were all in tremendous pain. This was not obvious at first. However, once they began trusting and opening up about the truth of their incestuous family experience, their true inner states were revealed. Homosexuals are very different than most people in the sense that they had not one, but TWO, parents excessively controlling and sexually abusing them for most of their growing up years at home.
Give me a break! Expect me to believe that a three-month old fetus makes negative agreements with a parent! What kind of drugs are you guys on?
Yes to your first question! As for the second question: a couple of beers and usually some wine with dinner.
You make a lot of judgments and talk about love. Are you aware that it is unloving to make judgments?
That is a New Age eastern ideology based idea that, in our opinion, is very problematic. We should use all of our natural intuitive and analytical abilities in an uncontrolled way to see, sense, perceive, know what is loving, right, true, and lovingly responsible action in each new moment. To suspend our analytical ability and not make judgments about good and bad, right and wrong, loving and unloving, is a prescription for abuse and pain.
What makes you believe that selfishness is not natural for us humans?
We claim that selfishness is a "choice." It is a choice that we never have to make. We all come into this world possessing innate "selfish tendencies," however, we also are naturally endowed with the ability to sense and know what is right and loving action. In addition, at any time, in any situation, we can choose to against a selfish tendency, destructive pattern, self-seeking urge or desire. That ability is our hope for a better life.
Most experts say that biological factors are the primary cause of disorders. How can you be right and they all be wrong?
Your guess may be as good as mine. I do think either the experts or we must be wrong. I also think that the data posted to this site, and contained within our various research related books, indicates that they are wrong and their information and conclusion are highly suspect.
Wouldn't choosing to give up control turn us all into wishy-washy wimps?
Only if one chose to give up control to another human. We are advocating giving up control to what is truly right and loving. When a person does that, on a consistent basis, he or she becomes a powerful spokesperson for good.
Why do you keep insisting that the most important reactions relate to parents?
Because parents are the most important relationships a person will ever have in life. As fetuses in the womb, we make basic negative agreements with a favored-parent, we subconsciously take-on and start enacting that parent's major selfish behavior patterns that help establish our personality, and when our parents refuse to love and protect us as they should, their choices make us selfish react in extreme ways.
You really seem to take issue with psychiatric and psychological theories and procedures. Are you part of the Anti-Psychiatry Movement.
No. Many of those members consider mental illness to be a "myth." Mental illness disorders and mental illness symptoms are very real--as real as the abuses endured at the hand of unloving parents that disturbed individuals are reacting to.
There are so many different mental disorders, how can they all be caused by sexual abuse?
That is not what we are saying. Mental disorders are selfish reactions to excessively controlling, abusive, and, usually, sexually abusive parents. The disorders and symptoms related to selfish choices to selfishly react, to honor selfish negative parent-related agreements, and to selfishly control to an extreme.
Do you believe in God?
Yes.
Obviously, you are not Pro-Choice advocates. Do you think abortion should be legally banned?
We think abortion is a serious problem. Legislation is not an effective way to solve that kind of problem. We are "Pro-Right-Choice," and we support the right to free choice when it it used for love, positivity, and goodness. Most choices for abortion were rooted in selfishness and irresponsibility. Until we stop being selfish, abortion will remain one of our more destructive choices.
Is your evidence scientific and based on rigid scientific method?
No. However, in the areas of mental illness, substance abuse, homosexuality, and other dysfunctions, most of what is presented as "scientific evidence" by the medical community is also not based on rigid scientific method, and many medical conclusions are not logical and have questionable motives.
