Introduction
.
The chapters of this book are an attempt to set the record straight regarding human nature and behavior.
For those who have allowed themselves to become extremely selfish, the read will likely be difficult and upsetting. For all of us, the content shines a penetrating light. It offers an opportunity for readers to focus on basic negatives. In the process, to identify personally negatives that hurt those they interact closely, as well as, their selves.
Most people would agree that the human race is in a state of crisis. The crisis extends to every area of life. It is crucial that we understand the truth about our selfishness, our mental illnesses, and our behavioral dysfunctions. Otherwise, significant positive changes in crisis areas and effective disorder treatments will never develop. Life has become consistently distressing. Economic factors, world politics, racial, ethnic and religious conflicts, and, of course, environmental negatives are rapidly approaching dangerous levels. We have long been denying, hiding, or ignoring core-level negative realities about our selfish way of life and ourselves. However, we no longer have that luxury. If we do not change in truly positive, right ways, we will reactively continue to choose ourselves into deeper levels of pain, and possibly mass suicide.
There are two parts to this book. Part I explores human nature, the subconscious, selfish behavior patterns, how our personality develops, and the psychological experience of unborn babies. Part II delves deeply into selfishness, selfish control, psychic control, selfish attitudes, and selfish emotions exposing the fundamental reasons we suffer stress and pain.
We think selfishness is “natural” and “irreversible.” Neither idea is true. Each of us, from the start innately possesses the ability to change any selfish aspect of the self—provided we are sincerely willing to make consistent choices that are loving, truthful, right, and lovingly responsible.
